Memos from Hell
"I will never forget my first personalized memo. It came way back in 1974. I was about to preach open air for the first time in my life. I was terrified, but I had determined to preach..."

Open-Air PosterOpen-Air Poster
Do you want a simple and effective way to witness? Download this poster artwork. It says, "Are you a good person? Prove it with a quick test and I'll give you $20 CASH! This is not a joke." When people stop to try for the $20 cash, just take them through the Law so that they can see that no one is "good" according to God's perfect standard (Mark 10:18).

"The Way of the Master" Wins FIRST PLACE!

We are delighted to tell you that "The Way of the Master" television program won FIRST PLACE in the "Best Program" award for 2005 at the National Religious Broadcasters' Convention at Anaheim this week. This is a wonderful honor, and a great encouragement. Kirk couldn't be there so Duane Barnhart (producer/director), EZ (general manager) and Ray received the award.

"EZ" Zwayne, General Manager; Duane Barnhart, Producer/Director; and Ray Comfort, accept the award.

You may have noticed that the program hasn't aired on TBN for a couple of weeks. This is because we had a small hiccup (our fault), but it's been worked out.

The "Evolution" episode was screened during the week of February 14. Then the second season started over again on February 21, in order to give us time to make the necessary production changes.

"My wife and I watched [The Science of Evolution] and found it to be not only funny but cleverly disguised as a powerful evangelistic tool. So I brought it to work...One of my managers saw the DVD in my hand and asked if he could watch it!" -- Bruce Fraser (MI)

Kirk's Mom Visits Africa

Living Waters employee Barbara Cameron (Kirk's mom) just got back from her second trip to Africa with Children's Hunger Fund. Below she relates some of her experiences:

"What an awesome trip I experienced!! I taught about 300 children the Ten Commandments in Sunday school! I started out teaching about 3 or 4 children when I first got there and that group grew to many. I taught them from the "Hey, Kids!" booklet that they each received, and when they could recite the Ten Commandments for me, I gave them a Ten Commandments coin and a sweet. They were so excited to learn them and to be able to come back to me every day and say them for me. Children's Hunger FundI gave the Sunday school teacher the PowerPoint presentation that I had printed out and laminated, and she didn't quite know how to interpret it. When she invited me to their Sunday school I excitedly said yes--then I realized that I might be teaching the lesson that morning. Yep, that's what happened! Praise God that He gave me the courage to do this. It was very exciting. The teacher interpreted the lesson for me and many children got it! It was such a joy to experience. I also witnessed to a Muslim on the plane on the way home. It was great! All in all, it was an amazing trip!"

Ministry in India
EZ and Ray will be going to India March 14 - 21 where Ray will be speaking to 1,500 graduating leaders at the Gospel for Asia seminary. Please pray that the teaching will be a blessing to them.

How to Bring Your Children to ChristHow to Bring Your Children to Christ

How to Bring Your Children to Christ...& Keep Them There -- Avoiding the Tragedy of False Conversion arrived recently.

Eighty-eight percent of children raised in evangelical homes leave church at the age of eighteen never to return.

As a parent, you don't want to suffer the heartache of your children rebelling against their Christian upbringing. Nothing is more important than where your kids will spend eternity, so what can you do to ensure that your beloved kids don't become part of this alarming statistic?

While only God can save us and keep us, there are biblical principles you can implement to help prevent your children from tragically falling away from the faith. By countering the unscriptural belief that a child can be saved merely by "asking Jesus into his heart," Ray Comfort shares time-tested principles to help you guide your children to experience genuine salvation and avoid the pitfall of rebellion.

This handy guide is filled with practical ideas for having family devotions, tips for safeguarding kids from harmful influences, and great suggestions for helping kids understand and learn God's holy standard, the Ten Commandments.

"One thing I know about Christian parents is that they will want to read this invaluable book! So, thank you for such an easy way for me to get the biblical gospel into the hands of so many people who 'don't have time' to read or watch 'The Way of The Master' but are more than willing to read this simple (funny) straightforward book. (You need to sell these by the case!)" -- The Marsh Family (CA)

Ticket to Heaven

New "Untearable" Tract

Some of you may have experienced the embarrassment of having someone actually tear the tear-resistant Ticket to Heaven tract. To combat this, we have recently changed the artwork so that the graphics of the thumbs are further apart, to prevent the people from using their fingernails to help. Also we had the tract printed on the strongest tear-resistant paper available. This has made it much more difficult to tear.

NeedGod.com

One reader from Atlanta, Georgia, shares with us that over 20,000 motorists pass this NeedGod.com billboard in a week. That includes traffic from the Georgia football dome and the Phillips basketball arena, special events and convention traffic, plus all the people going to and from work on a daily basis. The believers who invested the money to display this billboard are touching literally thousands of people every day.

We received another email from a man who has decided to run a classified ad in the "spiritual" section of his city's newspaper for an entire year. He sent us a picture showing that right in the midst of advertisements for psychics, witches, and voodoo, people are being directed to find the truth of the everlasting gospel.

The gospel message at NeedGod.com is very simple and straightforward. It starts unbelievers out with a "test" to see if they are good enough to get into heaven. After submitting their answers, a sobering "test score" comes back. The questions are much like the ones you would use when talking to an unbeliever one-on-one. It concludes by presenting the incredible grace we are offered through the blood of Jesus. This website starts directly into the life-saving message from the first page. We encourage you to freely use this website to share the gospel with the unsaved.

Hell's Best Kept SecretHave You Given Your Pastor "Hell's Best Kept Secret"?

One woman wrote to tell us about the experience in her church after she had given "Hell's Best Kept Secret" to her pastor:

"I kept praying and praying asking God to open a door. Well, today a huge answer to prayer came through in an even bigger way. After worship, the pastor got really quiet on the platform and tears started to well in his eyes. He said, 'I don't know why I'm doing this but when God tells you to do something and if I don't do it I'm disobeying him.' He then asked, 'Do you think you are a good person? Have you ever told a lie? What about ever cheating?' To make a long story short, three hours later (we were there from 11:00 to 2:15), people all over the congregation were coming up confessing that they had false conversions. I'm talking deacons and nursery workers, and people you would never have imagined! My eyes were filled with tears as I couldn't believe the miracle God was showing me right before my own eyes. The pastor said that he was tired of sugar-coating the gospel and that all of us will have to face judgment day. He also said that by not sharing that he was keeping something vital from his congregants, and that God wouldn't let him rest until he spoke about the Law...God is moving huge here!"

A Face Cats Go For

"I have a cat that loves Ray. He is deaf, and pays absolutely no attention to TV, except when Ray is on. He will sit on his perch (the back of his [our] love seat) and watch. His eyes never waver. They remain open and he stares at Ray for 15 to 20 minutes uninterrupted. You have to understand, he doesn't do anything uninterrupted for 15 or 20 minutes except sleep. I guess Ray has a face cats go for." -- Dale (TX)

Note from Ray: I figured out why the cat stares at me rather than Kirk. When I am speaking, my moustache looks like a small moving mouse. Cats like watching mice. They sit, stare, ...and salivate.

Tract Ideas

Barry D. of Marietta, Georgia, suggests that when leaving a good tip at a restaurant, always leave an 'Are you a good person?' tract. If you'll notice, the slot at the top for your credit card is also exactly the right size for this tract. (See picture.)

Tract Story...

"We left a tract on the table for the waitress at Catfish King. Jim . . . went back the day after and talked to the same waitress. He asked her if she had read the tract. She said that not only had she read it, but she took it to her fiance and he read it too. They are going to go to church with Jim this Sunday." -- Chris G. (TX)

Thanks!

..:: God's Law Kicked in the Door ::..
This one sent in by Gene K. (Houston, TX)

I recently took my wife to a local theater that was located in a mall I frequently visit for one-on-one witnessing. I have had some incredible moments on Friday nights at this location when hoards of Houston's teens show up to "hang out," but on this night my plan was to enjoy a movie with my wife. I still take the opportunity to place tracts either in someone's hand or where they will be picked up, and as my wife and I made our way through the crowds and to the front of the theater, I noticed a young man standing alone only a couple of steps out of my way so I peeled away from my date intending to place a tract in this fella's hand. He was extremely clean-cut and looked like he could have been playing middle linebacker for any major college. I was a bit startled when he made eye contact with me and turned and started in my direction. Before I could hand him a tract, he asked me if I would purchase a movie card from him for fifteen dollars which was worth twenty-five. He needed the money to get to another city nearby. I told him something didn't sound right about this and after a little prodding he assured me he was a good and honest person so I agreed that I would purchase the card if he could prove to me that he was the good person that he was proclaiming to be. Forty-five seconds later, he had readily admitted to being a liar, thief, adulterer, and blasphemer and was headed straight for Hell if he had to face God in that condition. Much to my surprise he even quoted a Scripture from the Book of Job. While my wife, who has become accustomed to my detours, sat on a bench and waited, I then shared the good news with this young man. He was very engaging and receptive to the gospel and told me that he believed God had sent me there to speak to him that night. He then shared with me that the real reason he was trying to get money was for a drug purchase and that the words I had used had struck him in a way like never before. He told me he was going home to deal with this issue, and from the look on his face I believe (and pray) he did. I tried to give him what money I had and he wouldn't even take it. He simply thanked me and then turned and walked out of the mall. Can you imagine me approaching this situation by offering God's grace to this unrepentant sinner? I would probably be holding a discount movie card while this young man would be getting another high at my expense. God's Law kicked in the door of this proud sinner's heart and gave the Holy Spirit well-tilled soil upon which to work. So as a word of encouragement, even when you are not looking for witnessing opportunities, keep getting those tracts out there. It takes only a second out of your life and you never know where it could lead.
