Why is Halloween is so popular in retail? Because there’s big money in Halloween sales. Man’s propensity to love darkness has lined sinful pockets with billions of dollars.

Let me tell you about two things that annoy me. Time and sleep.
Time annoys me because it’s precious, and yet it’s quickly running out, and I can’t stop it.
Then there’s the mystery of sleep. It annoys me because it’s a waste of precious time. I’m forced to daily go into a mini-coma and yield complete control of my mind to unasked for entertainment—whether it be comedy (amusing dreams), horror (nightmares), mystery (dreams that make no sense), or explicit dreams (that make us feel guilty).
That’s why when I’m awake I try to make the best use of my time. I redeem it because the days are evil. Instead of wasting time, I make time to share the gospel.
Perhaps you wouldn’t dream of going somewhere and open-air preaching, or of going to a college to specifically approach strangers. But you could set aside time to attend a Fourth of July parade. You could take a bundle of tracts and give them out to the unsaved.
Just reach out to the lost, and politely say, “Happy Fourth of July” with a cheerful smile. I would suggest our Patriotic Millions or our amazing Giant Money tracts (who wouldn’t want one of those?).
Do it. Set aside a time to do this. Go into the world. There’s no better use of your time.
