E.Z. Zwayne shares a poem to address the humanity’s struggle with age-old question of where we come from, and answers it biblically.

While there is some disagreement among Bible scholars as to the timing of the Second Coming, those who know their Bibles can’t help but see the signs of the end of the age all around us. Here are seven signs of the end of the age:
The Destruction of Damascus
The burden against Damascus.
“Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city,
And it will be a ruinous heap.” (Isaiah 17:1)
It’s interesting that Damascus has been in the news of late because the Bible says the time will come when it will be utterly destroyed. While Damascus has suffered various sieges and invasions throughout its history, it has not been completely destroyed in the way the Bible describes.
“Those who know their Bibles can’t help but see the signs of the end of the age all around us.”
Jerusalem Will Continue to Be Pivotal
“And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples…” (Zechariah 12:3)
Jerusalem remains a focal point of international attention, as prophesied. The city is sacred to Jews, Christians, and Muslims, making it a flashpoint for global conflict.
Knowledge and Travel Will Increase
“Many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.” (Daniel 12:4)
The last century has seen an explosion of knowledge and travel. The number of international travelers rose from 25 million in 1950 to over 1.5 billion in 2019. Meanwhile, information doubles every 12 hours in our internet-driven world.
Scoffers Will Mock the Promise of His Coming
Scoffers will come in the last days, walking according to their own lusts… (2 Peter 3:3-4)
Many today dismiss the notion of Christ’s return as outdated or mythological. Social media platforms abound with mockery of the Second Coming, fulfilling this prophecy in real time.
Israel Will Continue to Be Restored
“For I will take you from among the nations, gather you out of all countries, and bring you into your own land.” (Ezekiel 36:24)
In 1948, Israel became a nation again, fulfilling biblical prophecy after nearly 2,000 years. Today, over 7 million Jews live in Israel, and the nation has become a global powerhouse in agriculture, technology, and military strength.
Wickedness Will Increase
But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. (2 Timothy 3:13)
The prevalence of corruption, human trafficking, and organized crime underscores this prophecy. Furthermore, deception through misinformation and propaganda has increased dramatically in the digital age, affecting politics, religion, and daily life.
The Gospel Will Continue to Spread
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.” (Matthew 24:14)
The global spread of the gospel is accelerating through modern technology and missionary efforts. Christian media platforms—such as satellite TV, internet streaming, and YouTube videos—are now reaching billions worldwide, even in closed or persecuted nations like North Korea and Iran.
