About the Author
Julia Zwayne is an elementary school teacher in Southern California, where she was born and raised. She graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a BA in English and has always had a great interest in literature, poetry, and writing. As an educator, she is passionate about fostering a love of learning in her students. Julia writes poetry from a place of vulnerability with the desire to bring healing and comfort to others as she points them to Christ in her writing.

I found this book while listening to the Livingwaters podcast episode “Finding Beauty in Brokeness”. It was definitely God’s timing when I heard that episode, as I was in a very dark place the first time I heard it. While Julia was sharing her story in the episode it felt like she was speaking directly to me. & than when she read the poems, it broke me & healed me all at once. It broke the darkness that was around me & brought me back & reminded me of the joy, goodness, & beauty of God & His power & faithfulness to us. I’ve listened to that episode multiple times since than in other seasons of darkness & I finally decided I needed to buy the full book. I have been so lifted up by the poems in this book. The light & encouragement it shines is so powerful & so reflective of Christs strength & His love. Thank you for sharing the joy & pain God brought you through to be able to encourage others.
